WhatsApp Marketing: Assisted or Linked device?
Choose how AgroPay sends WhatsApp messages to your farmers: Assisted mode, where you press Send on each message, or Linked device, which sends in the background with limits. The risks, the limits and how STOP works.
The WhatsApp Marketing screen sends weather alerts, crop advice, offers, new-stock news, greetings and khata reminders to your own customers. The first time you open it, AgroPay shows the two ways of sending side by side. You can change your choice later in settings.
Assisted (the default)
AgroPay opens each farmer’s chat in your WhatsApp with the message already typed. You look at it and press Send, then move to the next farmer.
- No risk to your WhatsApp number
- Slower for long lists, because every message needs your tap
- Works with WhatsApp Web or the WhatsApp app on the computer
Linked device
You scan a QR code once with WhatsApp on your phone, the same way you link WhatsApp Web. AgroPay then sends campaigns in the background and can send the morning weather message by itself.
Read this before choosing it. Linked-device sending is not WhatsApp’s official business service, and WhatsApp can block a number that people report as spam. Use it only for messages your farmers want, to people who know your shop.
AgroPay limits the pace to keep that risk low:
- A newly linked number starts at 20 messages a day and grows gradually to at most 250
- No more than 14 messages an hour, with random gaps of 14 to 70 seconds
- A short break every 15 to 25 messages
- Quiet hours from 8:30 pm to 8 am, and a weekly off day
- Sending pauses for two hours if several messages fail in a row
When a farmer says STOP
In Linked device mode, a reply starting with STOP, BAND, UNSUBSCRIBE, बंद, नको or रोका marks that number as opted out within about 20 seconds, and it is removed from every queued campaign. Messages such as offers and weather include a line telling farmers they can reply STOP. You can also add numbers to the stop list by hand.
Who receives messages
Only your own customers with a mobile number, and never anyone who has opted out. Pick all customers, a village, recent buyers, customers with a khata balance, buyers of a product, or choose names one by one.
Languages
The 23 ready-made messages are written in Marathi, Hindi and English, and each fills in the farmer’s name and village. You can edit any message; your edits survive updates.
