No internet at the counter? Keep billing.
AgroPay runs entirely on your shop computer. The bills, the khata and the books are stored there, not on someone else's server, and a scheduled backup copies them to your pen drive.
What needs internet, and what does not
Billing, purchases, stock, khata, reports, GST files, printing and backups work with the network cable pulled out. Internet is needed only for things that are online by nature: downloading AgroPay and its updates, opening WhatsApp chats, and fetching weather for WhatsApp messages.
Your books are on your computer
AgroPay stores everything in a database file on the shop computer. We do not receive a copy and cannot see your bills or customers. That is good for privacy and it means one more thing: if the computer dies and there is no backup, nobody can bring the data back. So AgroPay nags you about backups.
Backups that happen without you remembering
Set the backup to daily, weekly or monthly, choose a folder or a pen drive, and choose how many copies to keep. AgroPay checks every half hour while it is open and catches up on the next launch if a backup was missed. The dashboard warns you when a backup is overdue, and a failed backup is explained in plain words.
- A consistent copy is taken even while you are billing
- Restoring asks you to type RESTORE, so it cannot happen by a stray click
- The file is checked to be a real AgroPay backup, and you are warned if it is from a different shop
- A safety copy of your current data is saved before any restore
- Older backups are upgraded to the current version as they are restored
Updates that do not ask for a technician
AgroPay checks for a new version each time it opens, downloads it in the background, and finishes the update when you restart it. The licence is tied to your computer, survives a Windows reinstall on the same machine, and a copied data folder does not carry a licence with it.

Does AgroPay work without internet?
Yes. Billing, stock, khata, GST reports, accounts and backups all run on your own computer with no connection.

Where is my data kept, and is it safe?
Your bills, customers, stock and accounts are stored on your own computer. They are not uploaded to us and we cannot see them.
AgroPay can back up automatically every day, week or month to a folder you choose, such as a pen drive, and keep the last 5, 10, 20 or 30 copies. Restoring asks you to type RESTORE, checks that the file is a genuine AgroPay backup, warns you if it belongs to a different shop, and saves a safety copy of your current data first. There is no cloud backup, so keep a copy away from the shop computer.
